This is a beautifully preserved example of BMW Motorsport’s last hand-built automobile. There are no noted mechanical needs and no impending services due. All interior functions work as intended, the interior leather is supple with no rips, no deformation, and very minimal bolster wear, where the interior plastics and fabrics show no notable imperfections. The all-original Jet Black paint shows beautifully and has maintained great depth with no fading nor oxidation. The E34 M5 is becoming increasingly desirable since it has a well-deserved reputation as a refreshingly analog yet civilized sport sedan that served as the brand’s flagship model. It features a BMW Motorsports tuned chassis, special cosmetic components, and a bespoke engine that was a derivative of the “M88” 6-cylinder used in the famed BMW M1. This is specific to the E34 M5 by way of a forged steel crankshaft, camshafts, 10:1 compression, an electronically-controlled butterfly valve in the inlet manifold to provide better low-rpm and mid-range power, Bosch Motronic fuel injection, and factory equal length stainless steel headers. These mechanical enhancements didn’t come without supporting geometry, which offers a 20mm lower ride height, 25% firmer spring rates with corresponding shock-valving, 25/23mm sway bars respectively, and factory rear toe adjustment. This particular M5 is exceptionally desirable as it has no aftermarket modifications apart from a dealer-installed Blaupunkt radio-system, and features some additional excellent benefits – including an odometer that reads a true accident-free 75,600 miles, the widely coveted M System II “Throwing Star” wheels, heated seats, and a fully intact tool-kit complete with the elusive blue tool polishing cloth. Offered with service paperwork, a recent smog certificate, and a clean California title.
